Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sterling Elliott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Hastings!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hastings scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Elliott is looking to reverse the position.
Hastings wants to stand but Elliott is controlling his arm.

Hastings looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Elliott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hastings tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Hastings wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Elliott, who protects the arm well.
Hastings moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Elliott tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hastings wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Check out the look on Hastings's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Hastings decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hastings tries to pass to full mount but Elliott defends it.

It looks like Hastings might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Elliott is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hastings closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Elliott to the mat! Elliott manages to get full guard.
Hastings is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Elliott wants to control but Hastings passes easily into half guard.
Hastings has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hastings is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Elliott has managed to free his arm - good work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hastings is taking a breather. Elliott says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Hastings shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Elliott's guard.
