The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gauge throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brott scores with a body shot.
Gauge throws a lazy right hand but Brott sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good leg kick by Brott there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Gauge counters with a stiff right hand.
A low kick from Gauge misses
and Brott counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Brott.

Gauge looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gauge blocks a head kick by Brott.
Gauge throws a series of strikes that have Brott backpedaling.
It looks like Sluggo Brott has been cut.
Brott looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Brott moves out of range of the body kick from Gauge.
A nice inside leg kick there by Gauge. That's going to slow Brott down.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gauge on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Brott has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brott there as he acknowledges the shot.

and Brott counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Gauge's guard now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
