Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hellson Ballswick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Nieddds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

25 - 35 - 1, fighting out of New York, Hellson Ballswick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Nieddds! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nieddds takes a shot right to the bread basket. Nieddds scores with a shot to the body.
Nieddds walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Ballswick lands a nice hook to Nieddds's body. Nieddds takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ballswick closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Nieddds just misses with a punch to the body.
Ballswick is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nieddds connects with a jab. Ballswick throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Nieddds on the side of the head. Ballswick misses with an uppercut. and Nieddds counters with a series of strikes. Ballswick will be more careful next time no doubt. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Nieddds throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. We've been hearing reports that Ballswick has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Ballswick. Nieddds does a little dance to reset his feet. Bobby Nieddds is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ballswick bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Nieddds has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Ballswick fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Ballswick closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nieddds's guard. Nieddds wants to stand but Ballswick is controlling the position.

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ballswick controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Ballswick is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Nieddds wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ballswick manages to pass to side control. Nieddds trying to control from the bottom.

Ballswick slows the pace down in half guard. Ballswick is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nieddds sees it coming and defends easily. Ballswick keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ballswick tries to stand but can't do so whilst Nieddds controls his leg. Nieddds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ballswick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ballswick performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Ballswick is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Nieddds has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ballswick is working away from the top position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nieddds throws a wild combination but nothing lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Ballswick counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nieddds's guard now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ballswick pushing down on Nieddds's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. The fighters are battling for position here. Nieddds manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ballswick misses with a shot to the body and Nieddds counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Ballswick is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nieddds's half guard. Ballswick is working for a kimura but Nieddds is defending it quite comfortably.
