Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Conner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Conner has chosen Bodies Hit the Floor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcos Griffin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Conner! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin misses with a low kick.
Conner gets caught flat footed, as Griffin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Griffin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Conner looking for a sweep. Not yet Conner, not yet. Conner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Griffin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Griffin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Conner looking to control.
Conner looking for a sweep. Not yet Conner, not yet. Conner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Griffin stands and throws Conner's legs to the side, diving into side control. The ground and pound from Griffin seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conner manages to get back to half guard. Conner is trying to get back to full guard. Conner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Griffin is working away from the top position though. Conner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Griffin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Griffin blocks the strikes from Conner.
Conner wants to get back to full guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Griffin throws a big shot that misses. A combination from Griffin does no damage. Conner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Conner looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Conner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Griffin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Griffin tries to get out of the position. Griffin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Griffin. Griffin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Griffin looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Griffin looking for a sweep. Not yet Griffin, not yet. Conner missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Griffin looks for the body kick but Conner saw that one coming. Conner clinches. Griffin breaks the clinch.
Griffin tries to bum rush Conner with a series of wild strikes but Conner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Griffin throws a shot from downtown. Conner moves away and avoids it. Griffin clinches but Conner breaks the clinch and Conner counters with a takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Conner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Griffin, who protects the arm well. Conner tries for a kimura but Griffin is defending well. Griffin can't do much from the bottom here. Conner looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Griffin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Conner off and has taken his back! Conner is in bad spot here.
Griffin lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Griffin.
Conner is taking damage to the body and head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Conner dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Griffin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Conner counters with a single leg into guard. Griffin didn't expect that. Conner tries to free his leg and advance position but Griffin is retaining full guard. Conner works over Griffin with some ground and pound from guard. Conner throwing strikes but missing. Conner drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Griffin dives on top into guard. Conner can't keep his opponent in guard - Griffin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Conner is trying to get back to full guard. Griffin scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Griffin not doing much here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin wants to take a breather but Conner is having none of it. Griffin thows a huge punch but Conner dodges it nicely.
Conner is refusing to be controlled, as Griffin sits in half guard. Conner has hold of Griffin's hands but Griffin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Griffin performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Conner on the ground. Griffin wants to pass to mount but Conner is defending the position. Griffin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Conner won't allow Griffin to pass to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Conner moves into full guard.

Griffin pushing down on Conner's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Griffin missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Griffin tries to pass to full mount but Conner defends it. Conner is pressing down on Griffin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Griffin controlling from the top position. Griffin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Conner is looking for a sweep. Griffin tries to advance to mount but Conner denies him. Conner sneaks back into half guard. Conner tries to get to full guard but Griffin has control of the leg.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcos Griffin will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Conner swats away the attempt to clinch by Griffin. Conner displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Griffin throws out the jab. Griffin throws a head kick that misses. Conner slips under a jab. A head kick misses from Griffin. Griffin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Conner fails with the takedown and Griffin counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Conner drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Conner stopping the sweep attempt from Griffin. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Griffin is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Conner is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Conner trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Conner not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Conner striking off his back but it's not causing Griffin any problems. Conner tries to land a sweep but no joy. Conner keeping moving, preventing Griffin from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Conner avoids the head kick by Griffin.
Conner closes the distance and clinches. Conner is working for takedown but Griffin is calmly controlling the position for now. Griffin throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Griffin jumps into guard, dragging Conner to the mat.
Conner prevents Griffin from getting back to his feet. Griffin looking for a guillotine here but Conner defends easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Conner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin keeping moving, preventing Conner from controlling successfully. Griffin manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Conner manages to get himself to full guard.
Conner looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Griffin has picked Conner up and slammed him! Conner can't keep hold of the triangle and Griffin manages to pass to side control! Conner looking for a sweep but Griffin has passed into full mount! Oh no! Griffin is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Conner is surviving well by controlling Griffin's body position as best he can. Conner regains half guard. Griffin not doing much here.
Griffin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Conner's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Conner trying to hold on to Griffin's head to control him but Griffin postures up.
Conner wants to get back to full guard. Conner is staying active underneath Griffin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Griffin uses his free foot to push down on Conner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Conner. Conner tries to reverse the position but Griffin maintains control.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to John Conner. I think Conner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
