Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Cristobal Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Severn!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howe is looking to clinch.
Howe checks a leg kick.
Howe plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Howe wants to clinch up but Severn keeps it at a distance.
Howe closes the distance and clinches up with Severn, looking for a takedown. Howe pushes Severn against the cage but Severn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Howe has a takedown stuffed.
Howe moves in looking to clinch but Severn pushes him off.
Howe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Severn circles away quickly and effectively.
Severn scores with the left hand. Howe knows he should have avoided that one.
Severn throws an off balance right hand
and Howe counters with a head kick. That will keep Severn thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Howe misses with a takedown
and Severn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Howe is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cristobal Howe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Severn connects with a nice short shot to Howe's temple.
Oh Howe is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Severn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Severn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Severn scores with a big shot! Howe's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Howe! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Severn!
