Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Swing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garza comes to the cage accompanied by kickboxer theme. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Garza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Big Swing!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swing moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Garza is looking to clinch.

Garza closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Garza lands in his opponent's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Garza trying to control but Swing is working from the bottom.

Garza stands and steps away. Swing gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Garza is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Big Swing has been cut.

Garza shoots in and bounces Swing off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Garza is stalling in the full guard.
Garza is pushing down on Swing's leg trying to pass to half guard. Swing is fighting to maintain full guard but Garza has managed to sneak the leg through.
Garza winds up and cracks Swing with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Garza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Garza decides to return to a standing position.
Swing slips a jab and a cross from Garza.
Swing dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Garza doesn't manage to clinch there - Swing circles away.
Garza with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Swing to score with a decent uppercut.
Swing changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice cross by Swing.
A punch combination from Garza misses.
Garza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Swing sprawls well. Swing wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garza gets slowly back to his feet.
Swing moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Thiago Garza has been cut.
Swing feints a jab promting Garza to slip. Swing then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Garza slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Garza moves into the clinch successfully.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Garza gets control of Swing's arms and successfully pulls guard. Garza will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Swing looking to sit in guard and control but Garza gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Garza really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Garza stands up and waves to Swing to follow him.
Garza slips a jab and a cross from Swing.
Swing tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Swing tests Garza's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Garza is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Swing's half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Garza works his foot free and advances to mount.
BOOM! Garza connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swing is desperately trying to improve his position but Garza has a good base and remains in mount.
Garza looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Garza pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Garza is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Swing has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Swing trying desperately to get to his feet.
Garza lands a heavy elbow.

Garza throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Swing has his hands clasped together but Garza breaks the hold and Swing is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Garza!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Thiago Garza!
A relieved looking Thiago Garza thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
