Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cosmo Carboni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carboni dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Gracie has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Gracie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Gracie trying to control the position but Carboni is working away.

Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Carboni has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Carboni.
Gracie is trying to improve his position.
Gracie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Carboni tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Carboni wants to pass to mount but Gracie is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Gracie is looking to control Carboni's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?
Carboni takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gracie actively working from the bottom here.
Carboni prevents Gracie from improving his position.
Gracie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Carboni thows a huge punch but Gracie dodges it nicely.
Carboni definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Carboni tries to stand but can't do so whilst Gracie controls his leg.
Gracie trying to control but Carboni postures up.
Carboni throwing shots but Gracie is blocking nicely.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Carboni stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Carboni stands and steps away. Gracie gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Carboni blocks a leg kick.
Carboni dances in with a quick combination. Gracie is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Carboni snaps Gracie's head back. Gracie stumbles backwards against the cage. Carboni steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Gracie's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Gracie just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Cosmo Carboni!
