Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oskar De La Hoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larry OConner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larry OConner struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Oskar De La Hoya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larry OConner! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De La Hoya misses with a wild combination.
De La Hoya tries to bum rush OConner with a series of wild strikes but OConner uses good footwork to avoid the assault. De La Hoya fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt OConner. De La Hoya misses with a straight left. De La Hoya shoots in but OConner avoids the takedown attempt easily. OConner tries to clinch but De La Hoya moves away and De La Hoya counters with a left to the body. OConner doesn't manage to clinch there - De La Hoya circles away.
De La Hoya dives in and scores a takedown into OConner's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. OConner being controlled here, momentarily. OConner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. De La Hoya gets to his feet - OConner follows without any prompting.

OConner scores with the left hand. De La Hoya knows he should have avoided that one.
It looks like Oskar De La Hoya has been cut. No joy there for De La Hoya, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
OConner slips a jab and a cross from De La Hoya.
OConner shoots in and drives through. De La Hoya sprawls well. OConner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. OConner has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from OConner. Oskar De La Hoya has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larry OConner.
That's two minutes gone in the round. OConner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
OConner fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Nice takedown defense from De La Hoya. No joy for OConner on that attempt. OConner looks winded! OConner is looking to take this fight into the clinch. De La Hoya with a hook. De La Hoya getting the better of the striking in that exchange. OConner fails miserably with a takedown attempt. OConner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. De La Hoya not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. De La Hoya throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as OConner works some decent striking defense from the bottom. De La Hoya works a leg free and moves into half guard. De La Hoya stalling.
That's four minutes gone in the round. De La Hoya is working for an americana but OConner has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst De La Hoya was thinking about the submission. De La Hoya passes into half guard. De La Hoya trying to control the pace. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. De La Hoya slips a nice elbow through OConner's hands, connecting with OConner's forehead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oskar De La Hoya dominated that round. The cut man is working on Oskar De La Hoya's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
OConner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. OConner checks a leg kick. De La Hoya connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. OConner looks up at the clock. Bad move! De La Hoya lands a right hand from hell, dropping OConner. De La Hoya pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oskar De La Hoya!
