Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danial Morse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cake the Distance kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Danial Morse has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danial Morse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack John! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! John has his takedown stuffed and Morse counters by moving into the clinch. John looking for a takedown. Morse is pushing John up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Morse ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Morse no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. John not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jack John wasn't active enough on the ground. John doesn't succeed with the takedown and Morse counters with a three punch combo that has John backing up. John nods at Morse to acknowledge the strikes. Danial Morse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack John.
That's one minute gone in the round. John shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Morse defends it nicely. John doesn't succeed with the takedown and Morse counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. John tries for a takedown but Morse circles away easily and Morse counters with a one-two to the body. John gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Morse counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. John looks winded! Morse instigates a clinch. John is looking to take this one to the mat. Morse jumps into guard, dragging John to the mat.
John got a little sloppy there for a moment and Morse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, John has managed to get both his arms back between Morse's legs - danger averted. Morse looking for a sweep. Not yet Morse, not yet. John advances position into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Morse's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. John taking a breather here. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack John hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Morse shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. John manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Morse working some strikes from top position. John has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Morse off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Jack John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. John misses with a takedown attempt and Morse counters with a shoot takedown. John fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. John wants to stand but Morse is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. John pushes Morse off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Morse leaves John with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Morse gets in close and instigates a clinch. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. John wants a takedown but no success here.

That was a close round but I would say that Danial Morse will probably get the nod. That's time! Morse's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

That's going to take a lot out of Jack John. John shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Morse counters with a one-two to the body. John doesn't succeed with the takedown and Morse counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Morse looking for a takedown here - he's got it. John keeping moving, preventing Morse from controlling successfully. John is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. John wants to get back to his feet but Morse is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Danial Morse has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. John fails with a takedown attempt. John fails with the takedown and Morse counters with a nice double leg into side control. John won't be happy with that. Morse prevents John from escaping the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Morse wants to control but John is keeping him busy. Morse prevents John from escaping the position. That will wear John down.

John is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Morse asserts his dominance and retains side control. John controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morse working for the choke. John wants to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Will Morse go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

John holding both Morse 's hands and preventing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morse has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, John has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Danial Morse dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
John closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Morse quickly recovers to half guard. John trying to control the pace. John frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. John controlling the pace for now.

John is trying hard to land a takedown here. Morse sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. John throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Morse's waist but Morse gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing John off to one side. Danial Morse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack John. John shoots in and drives through. Morse sprawls well. Jack John has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Morse fails in his attempt to clinch. Morse fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Morse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. John manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. John looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Morse is fending him off so far but John persists. Nope, Morse circles away and we're back to standing. John shoots for a double leg takedown but Morse sprawls well. He's pushed John's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Morse clinches with his opponent.
John is looking to take this one to the mat. Morse successfully pulls guard.
John wants to control from the top but Morse keeps moving. John wants to pass the guard but Morse is keeping the position. John's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Morse is defending well against a takedown attempt. Morse jumps guard and drags John to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. John is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
