The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker lands an overhand right.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Walker enables Richard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Walker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Walker is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Walker is trying to keep Richard in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Richard defends it easily.
Walker throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Richard escapes and throws Walker's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Walker gets back to half guard.
Richard prevents Walker from standing back up.
Walker desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walker is trying to control Richard's posture. Richard takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Walker! Richard is rotating here... this could be the end... Walker is out! Richard has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
