The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
James goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wolfgang is on top in guard.

James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wolfgang's guard.

James escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wolfgang gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
James has his foot on Wolfgang's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wolfgang works his way back into a safe position though.

Wolfgang tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.
James has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Wolfgang is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for James.

Wolfgang has control of James's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and James regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Dante Wolfgang will probably get the nod.

James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wolfgang is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. James knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
James tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wolfgang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
