Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Campbell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chase Kouzmanoff!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Campbell.
Campbell wants to clinch up but Kouzmanoff keeps it at a distance.
Campbell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Kouzmanoff feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kouzmanoff thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Campbell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kouzmanoff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kouzmanoff manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kouzmanoff tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kouzmanoff has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Kouzmanoff is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Campbell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Kouzmanoff is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Campbell has escaped the position, nice work there.
Campbell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kouzmanoff on the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Campbell misses with a double jab.

Kouzmanoff closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Campbell wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Campbell is breathing heavily.

Kouzmanoff looking to break Campbell's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Campbell remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kouzmanoff will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Campbell tries to escape but Kouzmanoff has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Campbell manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kouzmanoff's guard. Nice work there by Campbell.

Kouzmanoff had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Campbell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kouzmanoff Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Campbell's back instead.
Campbell is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Campbell controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

No luck for Kouzmanoff with that takedown attempt.
Kouzmanoff slips a jab and a cross from Campbell.
A punch combination from Campbell misses.
Campbell lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kouzmanoff fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Kouzmanoff closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kouzmanoff is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Campbell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Campbell is trying desperately to improve position.

Kouzmanoff looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Kouzmanoff is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Kouzmanoff!
