Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Stanislav! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, James Stewart! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Stewart. Those never looked like landing. Stanislav fails to land with a series of punches.
Stewart swats away the attempt to clinch by Stanislav. Stewart on the wrong end of a nice jab. Stewart takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Stewart closes the distance and clinches. Stewart wants to get back to striking at distance but Stanislav won't allow it.
Stanislav keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stewart's efforts to push away. Stewart takes a shot to the head. Stanislav is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Stewart is keeping busy. Stewart wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Stewart as Stanislav tries to tie him up. Stanislav makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Stewart manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanislav with a hook. Stewart closes the distance and pushes Stanislav back into the cage. Stanislav softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Stewart turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Stewart manages to end up in side control. Stanislav sneaks back into half guard. Stanislav is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stewart pulls his head out easily. Stanislav looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Stanislav looking for submissions off his back. Stewart thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stanislav gets full guard. Stewart postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Stewart throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanislav has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stewart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stanislav is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Stewart frees his head nicely. Oh but Stanislav has switched to an armbar! Stewart is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
