Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ignacio Pickett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Carlo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Carlo has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ignacio Pickett's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ignacio Pickett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Carlo!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlo moves into the clinch.

Carlo manages to pull guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pickett is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Carlo looking for a guillotine here but Pickett defends easily.
Pickett is looking to stand up but Carlo won't let him.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carlo is on top in guard.

Pickett has control of Carlo's left arm, preventing Carlo from doing any damage.
Carlo prevents Pickett from getting back to his feet.
Pickett will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pickett is trying to control the position but Carlo postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ignacio Pickett just wasn't active enough.

Carlo shoots for a takedown but Pickett saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A combination from Carlo does no damage.
Horrible takedown by Carlo or perhaps it was just good defense by Pickett which made him look bad.
Pickett tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Carlo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Pickett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Pickett fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carlo sprawls well initially but Pickett persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Carlo wants to control but Pickett is keeping busy.

Carlo seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Pickett's chin but Pickett turns very nicely into Carlo's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Pickett.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Antonio Carlo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Carlo is trying to break the clinch but Pickett has him pressed against the cage.

Pickett breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pickett misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Carlo.
Carlo blocks a head kick by Pickett.
Carlo scores with a jab. Pickett acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Carlo pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pickett back to the cage. Carlo follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like Ignacio Pickett has been cut.
Pickett looks to score with a jab to the body but Carlo is just out of range.
Pickett tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Carlo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pickett escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sloppy strikes from Pickett. Those never looked like landing.

Carlo is pressed up against the cage. Pickett has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Carlo down to the mat. Carlo avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Carlo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Pickett manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Pickett is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Carlo is defending well.

Carlo wants to get back to striking at distance but Pickett won't allow it.
Carlo tries to circle away but Pickett has him pinned against the cage.
Pickett tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Carlo goes for a takedown attempt but Pickett pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carlo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pickett pinned against the cage. Pickett gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carlo shoots in for a double leg but Pickett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Antonio Carlo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carlo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
