Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dj Paul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, William Drozky! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paul gets off balance looking for a body kick and Drozky counters with a stiff right hand. Drozky closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Paul is not content to let Drozky control the position. Paul is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Paul regains full guard. Nicely done. Drozky preventing the sweep. Drozky slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Paul is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drozky keeping moving, preventing Paul from controlling successfully. Paul looking to pass the guard. Paul drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Drozky dives on top into guard. Drozky trying to control but Paul is working from the bottom. Drozky is fighting to break Paul's control of his arms but Paul is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dj Paul. Paul shoots in and drives through. Drozky sprawls well. Drozky with a lazy takedown attempt and Paul counters with a nice double leg into side control. Drozky won't be happy with that. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Paul tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Paul looks up at the clock and then as Drozky takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Paul smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Paul connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Drozky some visible discomfort.
Drozky avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Paul. Drozky is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drozky is trying to get back to half guard. Paul working the ground and pound from side control. Drozky wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Paul has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Drozky's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Drozky is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Paul!
