Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Leo Bertos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balboa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gonna Fly Now kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Leo Bertos could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rocky Balboa 's chin.

4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rocky Balboa ! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bertos, pushing him back against the cage. Bertos misses with a body punch.

Bertos is trying to keep an underhook but Balboa manages to get the takedown into half guard. Bertos keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Bertos tries to get to full guard but Balboa has control of the leg. Bertos pushes Balboa off looking to stand but Balboa dives back in and keeps control.

Bertos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bertos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Balboa can do anything to dispel that myth. Bertos prevents Balboa from improving his position. Bertos lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Bertos scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Balboa is trying to maintain the position but Bertos is very close to passing his half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balboa is trying to escape back to his feet but Bertos uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bertos asserts his dominance and retains side control. Balboa tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bertos trying to control the position but Balboa is working away. Bertos lands a nice forearm strike. Bertos scoring with punches and elbows. Bertos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Balboa throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bertos. Balboa tries to clinch up. Bertos fails with the takedown. Balboa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Balboa showed some decent athleticism there. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Balboa trying to control from half guard but Bertos is working away. Bertos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Balboa 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Balboa 's back!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bertos is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Balboa knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Balboa for a finish. Bertos controlling well, preventing Balboa from escaping the position.

Leo Bertos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bertos scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

Bertos is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Bertos lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Balboa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Bertos stops Balboa from standing up. Bertos trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bertos pushing down on Balboa 's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Balboa wants to improve his position but Bertos is controlling well.
