Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phillip Henderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marlon Delim! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Henderson. Henderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Delim is pushing Henderson's head away, looking to escape. Henderson manages to hold on to the position though. Henderson cracks Delim with a big right hand but Delim just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Delim tries to escape but Henderson is in control. Henderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Delim keeps working. Delim pushes Henderson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Henderson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Delim is trying to escape the position but Henderson is controlling the position. Henderson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Henderson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Henderson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Delim's waist but Delim gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Henderson off to one side. Delim fails in his attempt to clinch. Delim closes the distance but Henderson moves to the side and Henderson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Henderson. Henderson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Delim wants to get back to his feet but Henderson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Henderson wants to control from the top but Delim keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delim wants to stand and escape but Henderson is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Henderson wants to stand but Delim is controlling his posture from full guard. Delim wants to get back to his feet but Henderson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Delim looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Henderson stays in close to Delim's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Phillip Henderson just wasn't active enough. Henderson misses with a two punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Henderson is looking to clinch. A combination from Delim does no damage. Delim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Henderson. Henderson misses with a kick to the body.
Delim wants to clinch. Henderson thows a left - swing and a miss! Delim tries to clinch but fails miserably and Henderson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Henderson.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phillip Henderson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Henderson gets a trip takedown into half guard. Delim manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Henderson keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Delim is working Henderson over against the cage. Henderson misses with a hook to the ribs.
Delim goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Henderson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Delim gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Delim lands a body shot. Henderson lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Delim has one foot on Henderson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Danga de danga de dang - Delim scores with a four punch combination! Marlon Delim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Delim is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Henderson slips a jab and a cross from Delim.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Delim tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Henderson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Delim scores with a one two! Henderson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Henderson dodges the punch combination from Delim.
Delim misses with a few strikes there.
Delim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Henderson moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Henderson dodges the punch combination from Delim.
Henderson fails to land with a series of punches.
Henderson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Delim is trying to stand up here but Henderson is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phillip Henderson dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Henderson throws a low kick but Delim avoids it. Delim throws a series of punches but Henderson avoids them all with ease. Nice sprawl there from Delim as Henderson shoots in. Delim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Henderson gets a double leg takedown into Delim's guard. Delim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Henderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Henderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Delim is retaining full guard. Henderson prevents Delim from getting back to his feet. Delim is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Henderson dives into side control.
Delim wants to get back to his feet but Henderson drags him back down. Henderson taking a breather here. Delim is not content to let Henderson control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delim is pushing Henderson's head away, looking to escape. Henderson manages to hold on to the position though. Delim is breathing heavily. Henderson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Delim! Henderson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Henderson has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Delim is forced to tap!
