Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anthony Ramirez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyler Walker! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walker shoots in for a double leg but Ramirez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Walker just misses with a punch to the body.
Ramirez stuffs the takedown. Ramirez fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ramirez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Walker moves in looking to clinch but Ramirez pushes him off. Walker closes the distance and clinches. Ramirez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Walker pulls him back up using the underhooks. Ramirez scores a nice knee to the body.
Ramirez tries to pull guard but Walker won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anthony Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramirez goes for a takedown attempt but Walker pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ramirez's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Walker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ramirez. Ramirez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Walker is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ramirez, into his guard. Ramirez kicks Walker off and gets to his feet. Walker is looking to clinch. Ramirez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Ramirez is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker is not content to let Ramirez control the position. Walker holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walker is pressing down on Ramirez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ramirez gets to his feet. Walker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Walker tries to clinch but Ramirez is having none of it. Walker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Ramirez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Walker won't be happy with that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Ramirez.
Ramirez stands up. Ramirez clinches. Walker lands a knee to the head.
Ramirez has had enough of the clinch but Walker keeps him there for the moment. Ramirez can't get the takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramirez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Walker darts in trying to clinch and Ramirez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Ramirez wants to stand but Walker has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Walker moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ramirez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Walker is looking for a triangle but Ramirez pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Ramirez dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Ramirez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Walker misses with a takedown and Ramirez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Walker! Walker tries to reverse the position but Ramirez maintains control. Ramirez is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Walker can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Ramirez moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Walker has worked his arm free - good work by Walker!
Ramirez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Ramirez's best efforts. Ramirez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Walker moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ramirez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ramirez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Walker's guard. Walker pulls Ramirez in to control the position. Ramirez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Ramirez with a flurry of punches that miss. Ramirez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ramirez wanted to stand there but Walker had control of the position. Walker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ramirez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Ramirez wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Walker controls Ramirez momentarily but Ramirez frees himself. Ramirez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Walker keeping moving, preventing Ramirez from controlling successfully. Ramirez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Walker works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ramirez trying to stand up but can't free himself from Walker's guard. Walker looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Walker wants to sweep but no luck.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Walker darts in trying to clinch and Ramirez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Walker's guard now. Ramirez preventing the sweep. Ramirez gets to his feet - Walker follows without any prompting. Walker wants to clinch but Ramirez slips to the side and Ramirez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ramirez. Ramirez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Walker is proving hard to escape from. Ramirez controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Ramirez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramirez get's back to his feet. Ramirez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ramirez lands in his opponent's guard. Ramirez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walker wants to sweep but no luck. Walker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Walker wants to sweep here but Ramirez controlling him for the moment. Ramirez trying to control the position from guard on top but Walker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ramirez's guard. Walker trying to control but Ramirez is working from the bottom. Ramirez wants to stand and escape but Walker is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ramirez looking for a guillotine here but Walker defends easily.
Ramirez has an active guard here but Walker has managed to pass into half guard.
Walker is keen to just control but Ramirez is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Walker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ramirez defends it well. Walker seems to be looking for submissions.
Tyler Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ramirez moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Ramirez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Walker is controlling him. Walker drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ramirez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Walker has Ramirez in his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Anthony Ramirez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ramirez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
