0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Costy Ionescu! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ionescu misses with a body kick. Ionescu tries a head kick but it misses.
Ionescu lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Joseph Baird has been cut. Baird misses with a series of wild punches.
Ionescu is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Baird's half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Baird gets back to full guard.
Ionescu trying to control but Baird is working from the bottom. Baird is controlling Ionescu's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ionescu would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Baird is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ionescu being controlled here momentarily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joseph Baird. Ionescu moves into the clinch. Ionescu gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Baird regains guard.

Baird is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ionescu rolls with it to try and escape but Baird cranks on the arm and Ionescu is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
