Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Public Enemy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Budo Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Enemy comes to the cage accompanied by (Silence). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rei's choice of entrance music: Alice in Chains - No Excuses. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Budo Rei!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rei throws a half hearted mid kick.
Enemy takes a jab right on the kisser.

Enemy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Enemy lands a right hand.
Rei misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Enemy.
Enemy leaning his opponent against the cage.
Enemy is looking to break free of the clinch but Rei has double underhooks.
A short body shot lands from Enemy as the two fighters clinch.
Rei trying to land knees to the body.
Rei being controlled against the cage.
Rei lands a hook to the side of the head.
Enemy stalling the fight.
Rei tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rei lands a good knee to the midsection. Enemy won't want to take too many of those.
Rei with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Enemy is trying to maintain a safe position but Rei gets an underhook and turns Enemy into the cage.
Rei looking to throw knees to the head but Enemy is blocking nicely.
Rei lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Rei scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Rei told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.

Rei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Budo Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rei just misses with a punch to the body.
Rei tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Enemy paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Enemy was well out of range. Poor timing from Rei.
Nice body kick from Rei.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rei is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Enemy.

Rei gets tackled into the cage by Enemy. Enemy maintains the clinch.
Enemy trying to stall but Rei improves his position.
Enemy avoiding damage.
Rei keeps control of Enemy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Enemy on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rei being controlled against the cage.
Rei lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Enemy is trying to pull guard but Rei turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Rei tries a body shot but Enemy blocks it.
Enemy lands a body punch in the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Rei throws a punch but it's blocked by Enemy.
Rei misses with a hook to the ribs.
Enemy lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Enemy pressing his opponent against the cage.

Enemy lands with a right to the head.
Enemy misses with a body punch.
Rei tries to land knees in the clinch but Enemy avoids the damage to the body.
Rei is trying to break the clinch but Enemy has him pressed against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Enemy.
Enemy manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rei using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Enemy has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Rei misses with some punches.

Rei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Budo Rei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Enemy catches Rei with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!


It looks like Budo Rei has been cut.
Rei throws a low kick but Enemy avoids it.
Rei fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rei lands a nice looking body kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rei misses with a double jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Enemy throws a body kick that misses.
Enemy throws a jab when Rei was well out of range.
Enemy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Rei wants to land a leg kick but Enemy is out of range.
Rei gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Enemy.
Enemy ducks under a wild hook from Rei.
Rei moves out of range of the body kick from Enemy.
Enemy misses with a body kick.
Rei tries to close the distance and clinch up but Enemy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Enemy blocks the body kick.
Rei throws a chopping leg kick but Enemy manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Enemy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rei paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rei throws a nice looking combination but Enemy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Enemy thows a body shot but no joy.
Enemy takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Rei pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Budo Rei dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Budo Rei's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Enemy misses with a body kick.
Rei throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Enemy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rei moves out of range of the body kick from Enemy.
Rei misses with a lunging right hand
enabling Enemy to counter with a crisp jab.
Rei blocks a head kick by Enemy.

Rei closes the distance and pushes Enemy back into the cage.
I was talking to Enemy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Enemy breaks from the clinch.
Rei attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Rei rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Enemy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rei jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Enemy wants to slow Rei down by chopping away at his legs.
An inside leg kick lands from Rei.
Rei clobbers Enemy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rei dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Enemy takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Enemy takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A swing and a miss from Enemy.

Enemy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rei.
Rei fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Rei keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Enemy.
Budo Rei seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Rei does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Rei scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rei throws a lazy right hand but Enemy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Rei clinches.
Enemy looking to slow down the pace here.
Enemy works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Rei swings wildly with an uppercut but Enemy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Enemy is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Rei misses with a punch to the body.
Rei tries a knee to the head but Enemy blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rei throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Enemys head.
Rei connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Public Enemy has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rei lands an elbow just above Enemy 's eye.
Enemy blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Stalling in the clinch from Enemy.
Rei lands a hook that snaps the head of Enemy backwards.
Enemy tries to throw a body punch but Rei avoids it by throwing Enemy back against the cage.

Enemy manages to break the clinch.
Rei dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Enemy falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rei counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Enemy throws a half hearted mid kick.
Enemy misses with a body kick.
Rei tries to land a leg kick but Enemy saw it coming and moves away.
Rei thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Enemy if he has to take too many more of those.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rei jabs Enemy to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Rei catches Enemy with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Rei tries to close the distance and clinch up but Enemy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rei scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Rei! Enemy is out on his feet! Rei rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Enemy is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Enemy is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Budo Rei!
Budo Rei thanked the fans post fight for their support.
Public Enemy spoke after the fight, saying 'I think this was my last fight. I feel my skills declining every day. It kills me.'.
