Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Monroe Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor McCabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Monroe Patrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conor McCabe!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCabe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McCabe fails to land with a series of punches.
McCabe misses with a two punch combination.
A punch combination from McCabe misses.
McCabe pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Patrick back to the cage. McCabe follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Sloppy strikes from McCabe. Those never looked like landing.

McCabe throws a left and a right that both miss

and Patrick holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Patrick's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Patrick pulls guard effortlessly.
McCabe wanted to stand there but Patrick had control of the position.
Patrick really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McCabe gets to his feet - Patrick follows without any prompting.

McCabe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McCabe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Patrick closes the distance and pushes McCabe back into the cage.
McCabe wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Patrick manages to break the clinch.
Patrick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McCabe pinned against the cage. McCabe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McCabe throws a left and a right that both miss

and Patrick counters with a takedown into side control.
Patrick lands a nice forearm strike.
Patrick works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
McCabe is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Patrick has just dragged him back down to the mat.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Patrick looking to punish the body of his opponent here but McCabe is avoiding damage well.
McCabe is trying to get back to his feet.
Patrick in side control, throwing shots but McCabe defends.
Patrick moves into full mount!
Patrick throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
McCabe tries to buck Patrick off but he can't manage it.

Patrick scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Poor strikes thrown by Patrick there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
McCabe is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Patrick fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
McCabe wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

McCabe somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Patrick closes the distance and clinches up with McCabe, looking for a takedown. Patrick pushes McCabe against the cage but McCabe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Patrick misses with a takedown attempt - McCabe sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monroe Patrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCabe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Patrick circles away quickly and effectively.

McCabe misses with a series of wild punches.
McCabe throws a series of punches but Patrick avoids them all with ease.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A combination from McCabe does no damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Monroe Patrick will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


No joy there for McCabe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McCabe throws a series of punches but Patrick avoids them all with ease.
McCabe feints a jab promting Patrick to slip. McCabe then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Patrick slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
McCabe misses with a series of wild punches.
McCabe misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McCabe fails to land with a series of punches.
Patrick tries a head kick but it misses.
McCabe throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Patrick misses with the combination.

and Patrick counters with an outside leg kick.

McCabe is breathing heavily.
Patrick slips a jab and a cross from McCabe.

Patrick misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Patrick fails to land the takedown.
Patrick shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McCabe sprawls well. McCabe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Patrick gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monroe Patrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCabe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Oh Patrick is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Patrick counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. McCabe is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Conor McCabe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Patrick displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McCabe throws out the jab.

Patrick slips a nice elbow through McCabe's hands, connecting with McCabe's forehead.
Patrick not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McCabe pushes Patrick off looking to stand but Patrick dives back in and keeps control.

McCabe is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Patrick scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Patrick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

McCabe tries to kick Patrick off but Patrick keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Patrick lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

McCabe has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Patrick is on him like a limpet, forcing McCabe back against the cage.
McCabe looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Patrick keeps the fight in the clinch, despite McCabe's efforts to push away.
Patrick jumps guard but McCabe stands there with Patrick around his waist. Patrick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Conor McCabe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Patrick looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McCabe with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Monroe Patrick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Patrick prevents McCabe from standing back up.

McCabe throws a nice looking combination but Patrick bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Patrick closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McCabe's guard.
Patrick cracks McCabe with a solid left hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCabe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Patrick passes McCabe's left leg - he's now in half guard.
McCabe blocking the ground and pound attempt from Patrick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McCabe wants to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Monroe Patrick showed his dominance in that final round.
