Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Yakubu Okoroji! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Butch Gunner! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gunner doesn't succeed with the takedown and Okoroji counters with a single leg into guard. Gunner didn't expect that. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Gunner keeping moving, preventing Okoroji from controlling successfully. Gunner tries to land a sweep but no joy. Okoroji seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Yakubu Okoroji has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Gunner goes for a double leg but Okoroji avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Okoroji continues to drive forward. Okoroji closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gunner to the mat! Gunner manages to get full guard. Yakubu Okoroji overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Okoroji is looking for a triangle but Gunner pushes his legs off easily.

Gunner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Okoroji keeping moving, preventing Gunner from controlling successfully. Okoroji is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gunner can do to turn this around? Gunner wants to stand and escape but instead Okoroji has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Okoroji has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Okoroji working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Gunner turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Okoroji off and cradles Gunner's limp body as Okoroji celebrates with his corner.
