The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcconnell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mcconnell enables Gandos to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mcconnell manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Gandos pushes down on Mcconnell's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Gandos stalling.
Mcconnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gandos on the ground.
Mcconnell is looking to improve his position.
Mcconnell is in trouble now - Gandos has advanced to mount!
Gandos lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
