Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patricia Aguirre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jax Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jax Jackson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patricia Aguirre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jax Jackson! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt and Aguirre makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Jackson with a poor takedown and Aguirre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jackson's guard. Patricia Aguirre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jax Jackson. Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Aguirre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Aguirre could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Aguirre's corner is telling him to maintain position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aguirre's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aguirre lands a couple of digs.

Aguirre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Aguirre is nestled in close to Jackson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Aguirre content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Aguirre tries to stand but can't do so whilst Jackson controls his leg. Jackson is looking for a sweep. Aguirre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Jackson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt and Aguirre counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Aguirre. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aguirre trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jackson's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aguirre is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

A looping hook to the body misses from Aguirre. Jackson does a little dance to reset his feet. Aguirre fails in his attempt to clinch. Jackson shoots in for a takedown but Aguirre shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jackson fails with the takedown and Aguirre counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aguirre is one step ahead there. Aguirre looking to pass the guard. Aguirre wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Jackson is breathing heavily. Aguirre engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Patricia Aguirre just wasn't active enough. Jackson shoots and misses and Aguirre counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that. Patricia Aguirre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jax Jackson. Aguirre wants to stand but Jackson is controlling his posture from full guard. Aguirre is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Aguirre wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it. The ref stands the fighters back up. Patricia Aguirre wasn't doing enough on the ground. Aguirre gets the takedown into side control. Aguirre happy to just control the position for now. Aguirre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jackson, who protects the arm well. Aguirre is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jackson's shoulder. That is not cool. Jackson prevents Aguirre from moving into mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aguirre tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aguirre has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Jackson prevents Aguirre from improving position. Aguirre advances nicely into full mount. Aguirre lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Aguirre controlling the pace for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Aguirre has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aguirre is aware though and is defending well. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Aguirre trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom. Aguirre is looking to stand up but Jackson won't let him. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Aguirre has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jackson's face.
Aguirre takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Aguirre tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Aguirre avoids the attempt from Jackson to control. Aguirre is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around? Aguirre controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jackson postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Patricia Aguirre wasn't doing enough on the ground. Jackson has his takedown stuffed and Aguirre connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Aguirre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Aguirre in side control, just content to control the action for now. Aguirre lands a nice forearm strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aguirre remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Aguirre working the head with strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jackson is not content to let Aguirre control the position. Jax Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Patricia Aguirre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Aguirre advances to mount.
