Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mr Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hong Kong Phooey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black's entrance music is yes. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Phooey's choice of entrance music: Hong Kong Phooey. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Phil Schofield.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phooey checks a leg kick nicely.
Phooey throws a head kick that misses
and Phooey takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Black throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Phooey sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Phooey misses the shot to the body.
Phooey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Black counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Phooey moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Black.

Black connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Phooey connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Black's hands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Black scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Phooey throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Black fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Phooey sprawls well initially but Black persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Phooey is looking for a sweep. Black is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Phooey is on top in guard.

Phooey wants to stand but Black is controlling his posture from full guard.
Black is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Phooey is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Phooey got a little sloppy there for a moment and Black has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Phooey has managed to get both his arms back between Black's legs - danger averted.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hong Kong Phooey wasn't active enough on the ground.

and Black counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Black.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Black.
Black is trying to maintain a safe position but Phooey gets an underhook and turns Black into the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Black fails to land.
Black misses with the head strike.
Phooey tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Black is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Phooey gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Phooey tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Black's elbow.
Phooey gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Black.
Phooey lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Black backwards.
Phooey stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Black tries to break free but Phooey pushes him back against the cage.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Black misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Black. That's going to take a lot out of him.

No joy there for Phooey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Black is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Black tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Phooey landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Black has a couple of punches blocked by Phooey.
Black is trying to pull guard but Phooey has him pressed against the cage.
Phooey lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Black or not.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Black lands a right hand.
Black wants a takedown but no success here.
A nice right hand lands inside from Phooey.
Black is looking to break free of the clinch but Phooey has double underhooks.
Phooey prevents the takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Black will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hong Kong Phooey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Phooey connects with a solid leg kick.
Phooey chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Black can pounce on him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Black uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Phooey.
Phooey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Black.

Phooey pounces like a tiger and cracks Black with a vicious hook! Black is down but not out! Phooey follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
