Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dallas Strickland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Raines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dallas Strickland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Liam Raines!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raines shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Strickland as he avoids it easily.
Strickland dives in for a single leg takedown but Raines sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Raines pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Strickland counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Strickland pulls Raines into guard.
Raines is looking to stand up but Strickland won't let him.
Strickland has Raines pulled in close to control his posture.
Strickland preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Raines stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Strickland swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Raines loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Strickland looking to hit a scissor sweep but Raines is one step ahead there.
Raines really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Strickland. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Strickland controlling Raines's posture.

Strickland escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Raines gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Strickland wants to sweep but no luck.
Raines trying to control the position from guard on top but Strickland is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Raines in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Raines throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Raines tries to free his leg and advance position but Strickland is retaining full guard.
Strickland really is a fat lump.
Raines wanted to stand there but Strickland had control of the position.
Strickland bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Raines's guard.
Raines is looking to stand up but Strickland isn't so interested in that idea.
Raines is striking but Strickland is not phased and passes to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Raines looks like he's trying to stand up.

Strickland works his foot free and advances to mount.
Raines squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Raines looks winded!
Strickland takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Strickland scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Raines?

Raines is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Strickland trying to control but Raines is having none of it.

Strickland swats away the attempt to clinch by Raines.

Raines gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Strickland tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Raines smiles and moves away.
Strickland fails with a takedown attempt.

Strickland drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Raines can't do much from the bottom here.
Dallas Strickland overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Raines wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Strickland passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Raines!
Raines tries to reverse the position but Strickland maintains control.
Strickland avoids the attempt from Raines to control.

Strickland looking to secure an arm triangle but Raines defends it well.

Raines is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Strickland wants to control the pace but Raines is squirming around nicely.

Strickland looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Strickland tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Raines regains half guard.

Strickland seems to be looking for submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Strickland thows a huge punch but Raines dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dallas Strickland dominated that second round.
That's time! Strickland's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


The fight stays on the outside here - Raines looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Strickland keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Raines fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Raines misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Raines scores with a decent looking hook.


It looks like Dallas Strickland has been cut.
Raines looks to land a body kick but Strickland moved away.
Raines blocks the body kick.
Raines misses with a body kick.

Strickland decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Raines takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Still in half guard, Strickland seems content to control.
Raines is looking for a sweep. Strickland is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Strickland is thwarting Raines's attempts to control the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Strickland seems to be looking for submissions.

Raines is trying to escape back to his feet but Strickland uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Strickland moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Liam Raines has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Raines is trying to control Strickland's posture but Strickland avoids it.
Strickland is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Raines's shoulder. That is not cool.
Strickland works to advance to full mount. Raines defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Strickland gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Dallas Strickland is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Strickland has Raines up against the cage in a clinch.
Strickland wants to get back to striking at distance but Raines won't allow it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Strickland as Raines tries to tie him up.

Strickland jumps into guard, dragging Raines to the mat.
Strickland is trying to keep Raines in close.
Raines throws a strike but Strickland rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dallas Strickland showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Strickland, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
