Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rodrick Estes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Isaiah Elliott! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Estes checks a leg kick. Isaiah Elliott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A momentary lapse in concentration from Estes enables Elliott to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Estes manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Elliott wants to control from the top but Estes keeps moving. Estes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Elliott! Estes avoids the attempt from Elliott to control. Estes misses with a head shot. Elliott wants to hold on but Estes pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Estes has hold of Elliott's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Elliott manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's one minute gone in the round. Elliott tries to hold on but Estes postures up. Estes tries to control but Elliott wriggling away. Estes scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Elliott is looking to improve his position but Estes isn't that keen on the idea. Elliott tries to lock up and control but Estes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estes controlling the position easily from mount. Elliott is looking to improve his position but Estes isn't that keen on the idea. Estes working for a submission but Elliott is keeping him at bay.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Elliott tries to reverse the position but Estes maintains control. Elliott wants to control but Estes is having none of it. Estes misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Elliott slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Estes has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Elliott works to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Elliott had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Estes defends it easily. Elliott has his feet on Estes's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Elliott throws a right and a left that both miss. Elliott closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Estes tries to buck Elliott off but Elliott is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Isaiah Elliott dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Elliott throws a leg kick and Estes connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Elliott looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Elliott trying to stand up but can't free himself from Estes's guard. Estes looking for a guillotine here but Elliott defends easily.
Isaiah Elliott has got the better of the ground game so far. Elliott wants to control from the top but Estes keeps moving. Elliott trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Elliott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estes working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Elliott has passed into half guard!

Estes is staying active underneath Elliott, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Estes is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Elliott jumps into side control! Elliott passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Estes! Elliott lands with some strikes. Elliott sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estes is looking to improve his position but Elliott isn't that keen on the idea. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Estes is squirming around, avoiding Elliott's attempts to control the action. Elliott content just to control the position here. Estes looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. I would not like to be Estes right now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Estes fending off the submission attempt from Elliott. Estes rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Estes regains full guard. Nicely done. Elliott trying to control but Estes is working from the bottom. Estes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Elliott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Elliott stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Estes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Estes has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Elliott has passed into side control.
Estes throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Estes prevents Elliott from moving into mount. Elliott lands a nice forearm strike. Elliott advances to full mount. Elliott with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Estes is working to get back to half guard.

Isaiah Elliott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Elliott looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Elliott engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Elliott preventing the sweep. Elliott wants to control from the top but Estes keeps moving. Estes has his foot on Elliott's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Elliott works his way back into a safe position though. Elliott forces his way into half guard. Elliott wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Estes uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Estes is on top in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Estes postures up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Estes avoids the attempt from Elliott to control. Rodrick Estes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Isaiah Elliott is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Isaiah Elliott. Well Elliott has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
