Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Just Roll! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Totoy Mola! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mola shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roll as he jumps to the side. Roll misses with a takedown attempt - Mola sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Roll shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Mola is trying to keep Roll in close.
Roll wants to control from the top but Mola keeps moving. Roll stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mola swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mola is looking for a triangle but Roll pushes his legs off easily.

We've been hearing good reports from Roll's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Roll works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mola wants to get back to full guard. Roll looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Mola looking for submissions off his back. Roll is working for a kimura but Mola is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Roll throwing shots but Mola is blocking nicely. Mola wants to control but Roll is keeping busy.

Roll frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Roll goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mola is on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mola pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Roll is keeping the position for now. Roll has his foot on Mola's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mola works his way back into a safe position though. Roll working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Mola has passed into half guard!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Roll looking for submissions off his back. Mola scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Roll looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mola is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Roll looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Just Roll dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Roll. Roll swings around for an armbar but Mola sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Roll's guard. Roll looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mola passes into side control.
Mola in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Mola tries for a kimura but Roll is defending well. Mola is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roll is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Roll is working to avoid the ground and pound but Mola connects with a decent elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roll manages to get back to half guard. Mola is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roll doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mola. Roll actively working from the bottom here. Roll tries to get to full guard but Mola has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mola is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Roll is just riding it out for now. Mola eventually gives up the hold. Mola missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Roll is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mola pulls his head out easily. Roll looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Roll regains full guard. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roll has his foot on Mola's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mola works his way back into a safe position though. Roll throws his legs up looking for a submission but Mola uses it to pass to side control.

Roll tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mola wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mola wants to control but Roll is keeping him busy. Roll tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mola passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Roll! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roll is trying to escape the mount.
Mola is looking to stand but Mola has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mola lands a couple of good shots and Roll has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Roll covering up well and avoiding damage. Mola patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mola controlling well, preventing Roll from escaping the position.
Roll tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roll is squirming around, avoiding Mola's attempts to control the action. Roll avoids a series of strikes thrown by Mola.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Totoy Mola will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Just Roll overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Roll is looking for a kimura but Mola is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Roll to get the leverage. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Roll in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roll wants to take a breather but Mola is having none of it. Mola throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Roll prevents Mola from improving his position. Roll blocks the strikes from Mola.
Roll in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mola tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Roll!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Just Roll! Just Roll retains his welterweight title!
