PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grimmjow JaggerJack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murphy is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Warrior's Code. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grimmjow JaggerJack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tyler Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JaggerJack ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
JaggerJack tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Murphy defends well and JaggerJack ends up having to push Murphy into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
JaggerJack tries to work over Murphy's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Murphy drops down looking for an ankle pick but JaggerJack pulls his leg out and moves away.
JaggerJack shoots in but Murphy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Murphy.
JaggerJack throws an overhand right that lands on Murphy's shoulder, as Murphy tries to avoid the shot.
Murphy has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from JaggerJack.

Murphy gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, JaggerJack regains guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

JaggerJack working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Murphy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Murphy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

JaggerJack can't keep his opponent in guard - Murphy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Murphy connects with a nice short shot to JaggerJack's temple.
Murphy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Murphy is keen to just control but JaggerJack is a slippery customer.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now JaggerJack is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Murphy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but JaggerJack was well out of range. Poor timing from Murphy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Murphy looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks JaggerJack with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murphy is nestled in close to JaggerJack, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
JaggerJack is pressing down on Murphy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
JaggerJack has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
JaggerJack seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Tyler Murphy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

JaggerJack tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Murphy clobbers JaggerJack with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Our spies down at at Ludus Magnus inform us that Murphy has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

JaggerJack is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Murphy controlling the position for now.
Murphy wants to control but JaggerJack is keeping busy.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with JaggerJack in particular looking to stall.
JaggerJack wants to pass the guard but Murphy is defending well.

Murphy manages to get to full guard.
Murphy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
JaggerJack is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Grimmjow JaggerJack has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
JaggerJack is looking to clinch.

Grimmjow JaggerJack showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Murphy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A victorious Tyler Murphy thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Grimmjow JaggerJack was interviewed post fight and said 'This loss will not sway me from becoming the best fighter I can be. I will look at the tape and learn from my mistakes.'.
