Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Obval Zaboev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Third Dag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zaboev comes to the cage accompanied by Lezginka. Obval Zaboev has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Obval Zaboev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Third Dag! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zaboev misses with a double jab
and Dag moves into the clinch. Dag wants a takedown but no success here.

Zaboev definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Zaboev working aggressively here.
Zaboev pushes Dag back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Dag blocks an uppercut.
Dag's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dag closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zaboev's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zaboev is pulling down on Dag's head. It's preventing any offense from Dag, at least for the moment. Zaboev is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Zaboev keeping moving, preventing Dag from controlling successfully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dag postures up in Zaboev's guard and throws a big left but Zaboev blocks it. Dag throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zaboev keeping moving, preventing Dag from controlling successfully.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dag throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Zaboev tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dag is in Zaboev's guard. Dag landing with the ground and pound. Zaboev could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Dag postures up and lands a big shot to Zaboev's brow.
It looks like Obval Zaboev has been cut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Zaboev throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Dag loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Zaboev is adopting a defensive guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Dag is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Dag content to stall in guard here. Dag has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Dag scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Obval Zaboev's cut is getting worse. Dag is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Third Dag was stalling too much, according to the referee. Zaboev fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Dag is out of range. Zaboev tries to clinch up but Dag circles away and keeps his distance. Zaboev goes for a double leg but Dag avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dag continues to drive forward. Dag has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zaboev avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Zaboev wants to get back to striking at distance but Dag won't allow it.
Dag gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Zaboev regains guard.
Dag scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Zaboev working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dag. Zaboev knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dag on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dag cracks Zaboev with a solid left hand. Dag postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Zaboev covers up, he's hurt! Dag keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Dag and the ref steps in to end the fight! Dag can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Third Dag! Third Dag decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
