The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bekoyan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Holmes's half guard.
Bekoyan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Holmes defends it well.
Bekoyan prevents Holmes from improving his position.
Bekoyan seems to be looking for submissions.
Bekoyan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Holmes wants to control but Bekoyan is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Holmes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Holmes.

Bekoyan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Holmes is keeping the position for now.
Holmes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bekoyan on the ground.
Bekoyan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Holmes is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bekoyan, into his guard.
Holmes avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Holmes loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bekoyan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Holmes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bekoyan has his foot on Holmes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holmes works his way back into a safe position though.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Holmes has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Bekoyan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Holmes is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Bekoyan pulls down on the head and he's put Holmes to sleep! This one is all over!
