Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Malcolm Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Light! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Light lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Light scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Ford has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ford jumps guard but Light stands there with Ford around his waist. Ford gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Light is trying to push Ford away but Ford has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Light breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Light stalks Ford and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ford's face. Ford staggers backwards, shaken. Light takes the fight into the clinch. Ford fails to pull guard.
Light is trying to force a seperation but Ford has the dominant position. Ford prevents Light from breaking the clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Ford prevents Light from breaking the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Light smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Malcolm Ford. That's going to take a lot out of him. Light rushes Ford and presses him up against the cage. Ford tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Light is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Light tries to break the clinch but Ford is controlling the position. Light escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ford ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ford no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Light wants to control from the top but Ford keeps moving.

Light decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ford, up you get! Light scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ford looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ford is breathing heavily. Ford tries to keep at a distance but Light has taken the fight into the clinch. Ford is trying to pull guard but Light has him pressed against the cage. Light has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Light has had enough of the clinch but Ford keeps him there for the moment. Light stalling the fight.

Light fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ford, pushing him back against the cage. Light lands a right hand. Ford is trying to pull guard but Light turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Light tries to break the clinch but Ford is controlling the position. Light is trying to break free. Light has had enough of the clinch but Ford keeps him there for the moment. Light misses with a punch to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Light's face as he tries to break the clinch. Light has clasped his hands together around Ford's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Light remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Light throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Light landing a few strikes. Light throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Ford trying to control but Light flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Light punches Ford on the ear. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Light is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Ford is rocked! The referee is taking a good look at Ford as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Light!
Oh Ford is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Light scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Ford is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Light.

Light drops a couple of huge strikes from the back position and Ford is in real trouble here! Light lands more strikes and the referee has to step in to end the fight! Light is delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Light! Luke Light opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
