Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Heke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lion Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanley tries to clinch there but Heke circles away.
Heke looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Heke wants to clinch.
Heke has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Build Up Crossfit in the buildup to the fight.
Stanley clinches with his opponent.
Stanley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stanley can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fight stays on the outside here - Heke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stanley tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Heke defends well and Stanley ends up having to push Heke into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Stanley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stanley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Heke circles away quickly and effectively.
Stanley lands a head kick. Heke smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Stanley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Heke's face.

Stanley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Heke haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee warns Heke that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Lion Stanley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Lion Stanley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Heke has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Stanley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Heke takes a shot to the head.
Stanley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Stanley stalks Heke and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Heke's face. Heke staggers backwards, shaken.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stanley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Heke as he jumps to the side.
Stanley throws a right and a left that both miss.

Lion Stanley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well Stanley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
