Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Casper James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Guavo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Guavo has chosen Super Star as his entrance music. Eddie Guavo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Casper James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eddie Guavo! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guavo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. James misses with a head kick.
Guavo throws a leg kick but James sees it coming and checks it nicely. James ducks under a wild hook from Guavo. No luck for Guavo with that takedown attempt. Guavo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Guavo off to one side. A combination from James does no damage. No joy there for James, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Guavo shoots in for a double leg but James sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Casper James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Guavo. A slow jab from James misses its intended target. James misses with a low kick. James lands a two punch combo.
Guavo is rocked! James misses the jab. Guavo is still on wobbly legs! Can James finish him? Guavo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. James wants to sweep here but Guavo controlling him for the moment. Guavo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Guavo seems to have recovered his senses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guavo looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Guavo wants to stand but James is controlling his posture from full guard. James striking off his back but it's not causing Guavo any problems. Guavo advances to half guard. James wants to improve his position but Guavo is controlling well.
Guavo seems to be looking for submissions.
James has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Guavo is working away from the top position though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. James digs a good body shot into Guavo's ribs. James throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Guavo stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. James is looking to clinch. A big left from James misses. James misses with a body kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from James.
James paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Guavo tries for a takedown but James sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. James landing strikes. James lands an elbow. Guavo manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Guavo tries to stand and escape but James is controlling the position. Guavo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. James manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Guavo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guavo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James keeping moving, preventing Guavo from controlling successfully. Guavo stands up and waves to James to follow him. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. James swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Casper James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Guavo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! James is looking to regain half guard here but Guavo keeps moving and retains side control. Guavo decides to stand up, so the ref orders James to his feet. Guavo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guavo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes. Guavo tries for a takedown but James circles away easily and James counters with a nice double leg into half guard. James thows a huge punch but Guavo dodges it nicely.
James stops Guavo from getting back to his feet.
James not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Guavo manages to get to full guard.
Guavo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. This has been an exciting period of action! Guavo wants to work for an arm triangle but James is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Guavo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Casper James dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

He's simply no match for Guavo on the ground. James lands with a punch from half guard. James looks to land a strike but Guavo avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Guavo keeping full guard, as James tries to pass. Guavo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
James stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guavo swivels though and keeps the full guard. James trying to control but Guavo is working from the bottom. Guavo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. James is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Guavo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take James's back instead.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. James just trying to survive but Guavo is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Guavo missing with strikes. Guavo keeps control of the position as James tries to break free.
Guavo is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but James has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. James tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Guavo moves to back control.

Guavo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. James scoring with punches to the head and body. James won't allow Guavo to get back to his feet. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Guavo is on top in guard.
Eddie Guavo has got the better of the ground game so far. Guavo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed James's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James gets back to full guard.
Guavo wanted to stand there but James had control of the position. James keeping full guard, as Guavo tries to pass. Guavo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. James shoots and misses and Guavo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Guavo. Guavo postures up.
Guavo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. James gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. James avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Guavo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James wants to control but Guavo is keeping busy.

Guavo gets to his feet - James follows without any prompting. James lands with a straight right. Guavo didn't see that one coming. Guavo shoots for a double leg takedown but James sprawls well. He's pushed Guavo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Guavo moves away. James wants to clinch up but Guavo keeps it at a distance. James scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. James thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Guavo's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Guavo wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.

Eddie Guavo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

James bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Guavo's guard. James missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Guavo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. James gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. James in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Guavo wants to finish this one by submission but James is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Guavo. Guavo trying to control but he's not successful this time. James is desperately trying to improve his position but Guavo has a good base and remains in mount. James tries to hold on but Guavo pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Guavo is standing up, even though he is in mount. James lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. James misses with a wild body shot. Guavo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. James is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Guavo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Guavo takes one to the side of the head.

James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. James lands with a hook. Guavo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James missing with a left hand there. Guavo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. James stuffs the takedown. James swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Guavo counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Guavo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Guavo is keen to just control but James is a slippery customer. Guavo wants to work for an arm triangle but James is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
James on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if James tries to get out of the position. Guavo tries to stand but can't do so whilst James controls his leg. James throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Guavo is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
James works his way to full guard. Good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James has a closed guard, preventing Guavo from standing up. James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Guavo is looking to stand up but James won't let him. James has his foot on Guavo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Guavo works his way back into a safe position though. Guavo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on James, up you get! James throws a body punch but Guavo moves out of range. James misses with a jab to the body
and Guavo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Guavo closes the distance and clinches up with James, looking for a takedown. Guavo pushes James against the cage but James circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Casper James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eddie Guavo. Guavo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. And that's the end of the fight! Eddie Guavo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Guavo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
