Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy McCole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Pietrov!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pietrov tries to clinch
and McCole counters with a left and a right that stings Pietrov.
Pietrov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McCole paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Pietrov gets caught napping as McCole dives in and scores a takedown. Pietrov manages to retain guard.
McCole content to stall in guard here.
Pietrov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Andy McCole wasn't doing enough on the ground.
McCole circles away from the clinch attempt
and McCole counters with a one-two to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pietrov throws a sloppy head kick and McCole moves out of range easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCole shoots in for a takedown but Pietrov shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Pietrov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pietrov wants to clinch.

Pietrov closes the distance and clinches.

Pietrov breaks from the clinch.
Pietrov is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Pietrov gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McCole has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pietrov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Pietrov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pietrov tries to clinch up.
Pietrov misses with a wild body shot.
Pietrov tries to clinch but McCole is having none of it.
Pietrov closes the distance looking to clinch

and McCole counters by moving into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCole has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pietrov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy McCole. That's going to take a lot out of him.
McCole drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pietrov pulls his leg out and moves away.

McCole decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McCole prevents Pietrov from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCole maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Pietrov could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but McCole has cracked it and Pietrov is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by McCole!
