Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wooden Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolay Capriotti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pencil comes to the cage accompanied by Full Retard. Capriotti is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Immigrant Song - Karen O (feat. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross). Nikolay Capriotti has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wooden Pencil! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nikolay Capriotti! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Capriotti swings for the body but Pencil moves out of range.
Capriotti avoids the head kick by Pencil.
Pencil throws a head kick that misses and Capriotti counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pencil's knee momentarily. Capriotti uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pencil.
Capriotti clinches. Capriotti prevents Pencil from breaking the clinch. Pencil has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A short body shot lands from Capriotti as the two fighters clinch.
Pencil can't break the clinch.
Pencil wants to break free but Capriotti has control.

Pencil takes a swing at Capriotti's ribcage but misses. Capriotti throws a leg kick but Pencil sees it coming and checks it nicely. Pencil has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Pencil throws a sloppy head kick and Capriotti moves out of range easily. Capriotti shoots in for a takedown but Pencil shows good takedown defense. Capriotti fails with a takedown attempt. Capriotti will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wooden Pencil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikolay Capriotti.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pencil attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Pencil tries a head kick but it misses.

Capriotti fails with a takedown attempt. Wooden Pencil is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pencil tries a head kick but it misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pencil. Capriotti does a little dance to reset his feet. Capriotti throws a big shot that misses. Capriotti lands a glancing blow to the side of Pencil's head. Pencil cracks Capriotti with an open hand slap. Capriotti steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pencil. Sloppy strikes from Pencil. Those never looked like landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pencil gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Capriotti. Capriotti bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pencil's head backwards. Wooden Pencil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Capriotti scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pencil in his tracks. Capriotti fails with a takedown attempt. This has been an exciting period of action! Capriotti thows a leg kick but Pencil checks it and Pencil counters with a nice double leg into side control. Capriotti won't be happy with that. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Capriotti tries to buck Pencil off but Pencil is having none of it. Pencil knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Capriotti on the ground. Capriotti regains half guard. Pencil tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Capriotti is pressing down on Pencil's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Capriotti throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Capriotti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Capriotti working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Pencil has passed into half guard!
Pencil stands up out of the half guard. Pencil on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Capriotti. Capriotti obviously looking to wear him down.
A low kick from Pencil is predictable there and Capriotti counters with a nice uppercut. Nice defenses there by Capriotti. Capriotti avoids the body shot from Pencil.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Capriotti closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Capriotti lands in his opponent's guard. Capriotti trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Capriotti throwing strikes from guard but Pencil blocks nicely. Capriotti chips away with some ground and pound. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Capriotti accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Pencil has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Capriotti off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pencil misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Capriotti lands a body shot.

Nikolay Capriotti dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Capriotti counters with a takedown into side control. Capriotti tries for a kimura but Pencil is defending well. Capriotti thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Capriotti tries for a kimura but Pencil is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Capriotti in side control, throwing shots but Pencil defends. Capriotti misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Capriotti goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pencil is on top in guard.

Nikolay Capriotti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Pencil takes a swing at Capriotti's ribcage but misses. Capriotti lands a leg kick that knocks Pencil off balance momentarily. Pencil fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Capriotti blocks a leg kick. Wooden Pencil is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Capriotti shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pencil as he jumps to the side. Capriotti is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
No luck for Capriotti with that takedown attempt. Capriotti will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wooden Pencil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nikolay Capriotti. A clash of legs there as Pencil blocks the low kick. Pencil misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Capriotti.

Capriotti goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pencil has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Capriotti but great work by Pencil. Capriotti is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Capriotti is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Capriotti wants to improve his position but Pencil is controlling well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Capriotti is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pencil pulls his head out easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Capriotti moves into full guard.

Capriotti looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Wooden Pencil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Capriotti is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Pencil's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Pencil's back!
And that's the end of the fight! Nikolay Capriotti comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Capriotti has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
