Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ken Masters!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tappanii fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Masters to the ground. Tappanii is now in Masters's guard.
Tappanii tries to free his leg and advance position but Masters is retaining full guard.
Tappanii won't allow Masters to get back to his feet.
Tappanii wants to control from the top but Masters keeps moving.
Tappanii is pushing down on Masters's leg trying to pass to half guard. Masters is fighting to maintain full guard but Tappanii has managed to sneak the leg through.

Tappanii is looking for a kimura here.
Tappanii content to control rather than advance.

Tappanii is trying to work for a kimura but Masters is defending well.
Tappanii is looking to take a break and control but Masters is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Masters tries to kick Tappanii off but Tappanii keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tappanii looks to land a strike but Masters avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Tappanii throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Masters because Tappanii loaded up on that one.

Tappanii goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Masters is on top in guard.

Masters has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Tappanii fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Masters sprawls well initially but Tappanii persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tappanii is taking a breather. Masters says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Tappanii is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Masters sees it coming and defends easily.
Tappanii is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Masters!

Masters is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tappanii goes for an armbar but Masters turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Masters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tappanii is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Tappanii looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Masters is fighting to break Tappanii's control of his arms but Tappanii is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Tappanii wants to stand up but Masters is controlling him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tappanii uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Masters throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hannu Tappanii dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Masters misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tappanii looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice body kick there by Masters.
Masters keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Tappanii shoots in and bounces Masters off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Tappanii advances to half guard.
Masters pushes Tappanii off looking to stand but Tappanii dives back in and keeps control.
Tappanii thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Tappanii seems to be looking for submissions.
Tappanii wants to pass the guard but Masters is defending well.
Tappanii uses his free foot to push down on Masters's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Masters.

Tappanii has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Masters tries to buck Tappanii off but he can't manage it.
Tappanii looking to control and managing it successfully.
Masters wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Tappanii.
Tappanii takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Tappanii wants to control the pace but Masters is squirming around nicely.
Masters is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Tappanii takes Masters's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Masters is in trouble.

Tappanii is cranking Masters's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Masters! He's tightened the choke and Masters is tapping out!
