Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris OSullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). OSullivan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I'm Shipping up to Boston - Dropkick Murphys. Hunt comes into a darkened arena with his song building. MMA Entrance Theme - Mark Hunt kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Hunt !
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OSullivan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hunt .
OSullivan fails with an attempt to clinch.
OSullivan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hunt lands a really nice looking cross but OSullivan seems unphased.
OSullivan slips under a jab.
Mark Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
OSullivan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hunt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by OSullivan.
Sloppy strikes from Hunt . Those never looked like landing.
Hunt throws a leg kick

and OSullivan counters by clinching up.
Hunt is looking to break free of the clinch but OSullivan has double underhooks.
Hunt can't break the clinch.
Hunt tries to circle away but OSullivan has him pinned against the cage.

OSullivan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
OSullivan is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hunt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hunt lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Hunt .


It looks like Chris OSullivan has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters circling - Hunt throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Hunt tests OSullivan's chin there with a solid looking shot.
OSullivan swings for the body but Hunt moves out of range.
An inside leg kick from Hunt misses.
OSullivan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hunt pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces OSullivan back to the cage. Hunt follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hunt throws a left and a right that both miss

and OSullivan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hunt missing with punches from the bottom.
OSullivan with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
OSullivan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hunt keeps working.
OSullivan throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
OSullivan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
OSullivan frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
You get the feeling that Hunt really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Hunt regains half guard.
OSullivan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
OSullivan trying to pass the guard but Hunt defending well.
Hunt is trying to get back to full guard.
Hunt has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. OSullivan is working away from the top position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
OSullivan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunt looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hunt throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Hunt looks like he's trying to stand up.
Hunt taking some punishment here, with OSullivan in his half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
OSullivan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunt doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time OSullivan.
OSullivan slips a nice elbow through Hunt 's hands, connecting with Hunt 's forehead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hunt pushes OSullivan off looking to stand but OSullivan dives back in and keeps control.
OSullivan content to control rather than advance.
Hunt is looking to improve his position.
Hunt is trying to stand back up but OSullivan is controlling him
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hunt is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Hunt is pushing off trying to get to his feet. OSullivan has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Hunt is tapping! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Chris OSullivan!
Chris OSullivan was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
