Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Cabreros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sho Shinjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cabreros comes to the cage accompanied by Love is what i got. Shinjo has chosen Theme of Sho as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
41 - 22 - 1, fighting out of New York, Peter Cabreros! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sho Shinjo! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cabreros thuds a left hand into Shinjo's body. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Cabreros!
A slapping leg kick lands for Shinjo.
Shinjo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cabreros.
Cabreros scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Shinjo doesn't seem bothered though. A chopping leg kick lands by Shinjo. Cabreros avoids the body shot from Shinjo.
No joy there for Shinjo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shinjo throws a body punch but Cabreros moves out of range. Cabreros lands a really nice looking cross but Shinjo seems unphased.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shinjo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Shinjo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Shinjo gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Cabreros thumps Shinjo with a low kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from Cabreros. Shinjo does a little dance to reset his feet. Shinjo swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Cabreros uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shinjo. Cabreros checks a low kick from Shinjo. Cabreros seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Shinjo throws a lazy body kick and Cabreros makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Cabreros blocks the body kick.

Cabreros manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Cabreros displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shinjo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cabreros stuffs the takedown attempt from Shinjo. Shinjo gets slowly back to his feet. Peter Cabreros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sho Shinjo. Cabreros lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A head kick misses from Cabreros. Shinjo throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Shinjo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Cabreros with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Cabreros is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Cabreros scores with a jab to the jaw. Cabreros scores with a hook to the body. Shinjo takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Shinjo looking to score a takedown here. Cabreros is defending well but Shinjo drives through and ends up in Cabreros's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Shinjo won't allow Cabreros to sweep him here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cabreros utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cabreros seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Shinjo in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cabreros controls Shinjo momentarily but Shinjo frees himself. Shinjo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cabreros keeping moving, preventing Shinjo from controlling successfully. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Shinjo throws a strike but Cabreros rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Cabreros dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Shinjo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Cabreros. Shinjo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cabreros has time to react. Shinjo shoots in for a takedown but Cabreros shows good takedown defense. Shinjo just misses with a punch to the body.
Shinjo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Cabreros looks to score with a jab to the body but Shinjo is just out of range. Cabreros misses with the body kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Cabreros misses with an uppercut. Cabreros misses with a low kick.
Shinjo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cabreros. The fighters circling - Cabreros throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Shinjo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cabreros can pounce on him.
Cabreros is looking to chop away at Shinjo's legs. Shinjo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cabreros. That did some damage!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Cabreros throws a leg kick that misses. Shinjo is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cabreros rather than just go for the knockout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Cabreros lands an overhand right. Decent striking displayed by Cabreros there. A head kick misses from Shinjo. Cabreros is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shinjo. Cabreros thumps Shinjo with a low kick. Shinjo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Cabreros.
Cabreros attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Sho Shinjo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Shinjo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cabreros. Cabreros circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Cabreros scores with a crisp jab that stopped Shinjo in his tracks. Cabreros connects with a single shot there. Sloppy strikes from Shinjo. Those never looked like landing. Shinjo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cabreros throws out the jab.

and Shinjo counters with a low kick, right behind Cabreros 's knee. Cabreros fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Shinjo's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Cabreros lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Cabreros avoids the body shot from Shinjo.
Shinjo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Peter Cabreros has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sho Shinjo. Nice uppercut there from Cabreros. Cabreros clobbers Shinjo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Jab from Cabreros. Shinjo punishes Cabreros's body with a nice straight punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Shinjo lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cabreros lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shinjo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shinjo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Cabreros misses the body punch and Shinjo counters with a solid body kick. Shinjo misses with a few strikes there.

Shinjo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Shinjo throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Cabreros counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Cabreros takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Peter Cabreros dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

That kick from Shinjo tenderised Cabreros's leg. Cabreros is trying to keep his angry face on. Cabreros slips a straight right by Shinjo. Cabreros scoring well with a low kick there.
Shinjo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Shinjo seems to be working for a kimura but Cabreros defends the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cabreros is doing well to control the position and prevent Shinjo from advancing to side control. Shinjo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Shinjo missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Shinjo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Cabreros doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Shinjo. Cabreros is looking to improve his position.
Sho Shinjo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinjo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shinjo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Shinjo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Cabreros is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinjo throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Cabreros to regain full guard. Cabreros keeping moving, preventing Shinjo from controlling successfully. Shinjo throwing strikes but missing. Shinjo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Cabreros is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shinjo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cabreros can't keep his opponent in guard - Shinjo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shinjo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cabreros's head. Shinjo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cabreros is just riding it out for now. Shinjo eventually gives up the hold. Shinjo not landing any meaningful shots this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cabreros is pressing down on Shinjo's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Peter Cabreros is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Shinjo trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
And that's the end of the fight! Sho Shinjo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cabreros has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
