Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Samurai Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Samurai Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Jack.
Jack takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Jack gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Sanchez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jack tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sanchez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sanchez thumps Jack with a low kick.
The fighters circling - Jack throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Jack counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sanchez thinking.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sanchez lands with a hook. Jack tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

The fighters circle momentarily. Jack darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Sanchez feints and then cracks Jack's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Jack down.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sanchez cracks Jack with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Samurai Jack will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
