Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Cobb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Chambers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kurt Cobb!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chambers fails to land the takedown.
Cobb fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cobb fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cobb instigates a clinch.
Cobb gets underhooks to prevent Chambers's takedown attempt.
Cobb wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Chambers is pushing Cobb up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A head punch on the inside from Cobb fails to land.
Chambers is pressed up against the cage. Cobb has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chambers down to the mat. Chambers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Chambers stuffs the takedown attempt from Cobb. Cobb gets slowly back to his feet.

Chambers keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Chambers fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cobb, pushing him back against the cage.

Cobb throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chambers escapes and throws Cobb's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Chambers sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Cobb is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Chambers decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Chambers shoots in and drives through. Cobb sprawls well.
Chambers throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cobb counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Chambers lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Chambers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cobb is looking to clinch.
Chambers shoots in but Cobb avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Chambers fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cobb shoots for a double leg takedown but Chambers sprawls well. He's pushed Cobb's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Chambers tries to keep at a distance but Cobb has taken the fight into the clinch.
Chambers is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cobb gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Cobb manages to break the clinch.
Cobb cracks Chambers with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Cobb tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Chambers swivels and escapes.
Cobb shoots in looking for a takedown. Chambers tries to sprawl out of it but Cobb keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chambers manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Cobb or perhaps it was just good defense by Chambers which made him look bad.

Nice takedown defense from Chambers. No joy for Cobb on that attempt.
Chambers lands with a shot to the body.

Cobb gets tackled into the cage by Chambers. Chambers maintains the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but George Chambers will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Cobb stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cobb wants it to stay on the feet.

Cobb fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chambers avoids it really well and circles away.

Cobb is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Chambers has escaped the position, nice work there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chambers makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Chambers.

Chambers controls Cobb momentarily but Cobb frees himself.
Cobb wants to control from the top but Chambers keeps moving.

Chambers looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cobb is fending him off so far but Chambers persists. Nope, Cobb circles away and we're back to standing.

Chambers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cobb smiles and moves away.

Cobb is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kurt Cobb.
I think Cobb has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
