Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! One throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Penn's waist but Penn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing One off to one side. Penn misses with a low kick. Penn throws a push kick but One slaps the foot to one side. Penn misses with a head kick.
Penn looks to land a body kick but One moved away. Penn tries to clinch up. One is looking to clinch. Penn throws a series of punches but One moves out of range. One shoots in but Penn avoids the takedown attempt easily. One looks gassed! One fails miserably with a takedown attempt. BJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of The One. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Penn misses with a head kick.
Penn darts in and clinches One up against the cage. Penn can't break the clinch.
Penn wants to break free but One has control.
Penn wants to get back to striking at distance but One won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. One prevents the takedown attempt.
One tightens his grip and picks Penn up, before dumping him to the ground. Penn manages to land in guard. One wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving. One stands up from Penn's guard - One perhaps looking for a knockout. Penn throws a push kick but One slaps the foot to one side. Penn scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. One doesn't seem bothered though. Nice sprawl there from One as Penn shoots in. Penn shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Penn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Penn tries to move into full mount but can't pass One's legs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. One regains half guard. Penn stalling away here and it's allowed One to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. One is trying to keep Penn in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn has gone for a leg lock! One slips out almost immediately though and dives into Penn's guard. Penn looking for a sweep. Not yet Penn, not yet. Penn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. One trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. One stopping the sweep attempt from Penn. One stays in close to Penn's body and controls the position. Penn working for a triangle but One defends it easily.
One gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn moves away from the strike by One. Penn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for One! Penn get's back to his feet. Penn goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Penn has a takedown stuffed. One drives through and clinches with Penn against the cage.
Penn tries to pull guard but One holds him up against the cage and eventually Penn drops back down to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that BJ Penn will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Penn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. One trying to control the position from guard on top but Penn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. One stopping the sweep attempt from Penn. Penn seems keen to control One's posture. Penn is trying to keep One in close.
One trying to control but Penn is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. One doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. One manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Penn looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Penn is trying to keep One in close.
Penn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. One gets to his feet - Penn follows without any prompting. One throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and One counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. One thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Penn's head. Penn looking for submissions off his back. Penn is trying to defend against the ground and pound but One scores with a couple of nice shots. Penn is looking for a sweep. One is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. One is nestled in close to Penn, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Penn is trying to get back to full guard. Penn looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. One uses his free foot to push down on Penn's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Penn. One lands with some strikes. Penn tries to control the position but One now has his back.
One just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
One looking for the choke but no joy. One is trying to stick to Penn's back but Penn is turning into One. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in One's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Penn.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Penn pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. One is keeping the position for now. Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Penn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. One keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully. One is trying to keep Penn in close.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. One takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. One closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Penn to the mat! Penn manages to get full guard. Penn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
The One showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
One shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Penn gets back to half guard. Penn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Penn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst One is controlling him. Penn looking for a guillotine here but One defends easily.
Penn wants to stand up but One is controlling him. Penn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but One can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. One is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Penn looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The One has got the better of the ground game so far. One avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Penn being controlled here, momentarily. Penn is looking for a triangle but One pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. One slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Penn looking to control.
Penn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. One manages to get himself to full guard.
Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but One is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Penn is really struggling to control One but he's trying to hold on to the position. One looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn slips nicely into half guard. Penn seems to be looking for submissions.
Penn decides to return to a standing position. One with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for One! Penn tries to take his opponent's back but One turns with him and manages to move into guard on the top. Nice work. Penn has a closed guard, preventing One from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. One lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Penn pulls One in to control the position. Penn looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but One puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Penn is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but One pulls his head out easily. Penn is trying to get back to full guard. One wants to take a breather but Penn is having none of it. Penn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Penn is looking for a triangle but One pushes his legs off easily.
And that's the end of the fight! BJ Penn showed his dominance in that final round. I think Penn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
