Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damon Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Piltz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pierce comes to the cage accompanied by Eve 6 - Inside Out. Piltz has chosen Don't Stop Me Now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damon Pierce! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Piltz! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piltz scores with a spinning back kick! Piltz misses with a wild body shot. Damon Pierce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Piltz checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. A solid body kick from Pierce. Pierce scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. A looping hook to the body misses from Pierce. Piltz does a little dance to reset his feet. Pierce scores with a body shot.
Pierce has managed to clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Piltz. Piltz working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Piltz stops a takedown attempt from Pierce.
Pierce gets control of Piltz's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pierce will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Pierce is trying to control the position but Piltz postures up. Piltz drops back looking for a leg! Pierce is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pierce manages to kick Piltz off! Piltz jumps back into Pierce's guard. Piltz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pierce is proving hard to escape from.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pierce is adopting a defensive guard. Piltz postures up in Pierce's guard and throws a big left but Pierce blocks it. Pierce has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Pierce bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Piltz's guard. Piltz is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pierce is aware though and is defending well. Piltz looking to control.

Piltz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pierce can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piltz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pierce stacks Piltz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pierce! Pierce is looking to take a break and control but Piltz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pierce in side control lands a decent elbow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Piltz takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Pierce lands a few punches from side control. Piltz felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Piltz is looking to reverse the position. Pierce slows the pace down. Pierce has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Piltz is looking for a sweep. Piltz trying to remain calm as Pierce controls from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piltz is working to avoid the ground and pound but Pierce connects with a decent elbow. Piltz is looking to reverse the position. Pierce is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Piltz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Pierce scoring with punches and elbows. Pierce advances nicely into full mount. Piltz can't escape the position.

Piltz is still trying to improve position. BOOM! Pierce connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pierce with the ground and pound from mount. Piltz is in a horrible position here. Pierce smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Damon Pierce dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A punch combination from Piltz misses. Crunch! Pierce slams his shin into Piltz's torso. Piltz on the wrong end of a nice hook. Pierce showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Piltz.

A clash of legs there as Pierce blocks the low kick. Pierce scores with a jab to the jaw. Pierce connects with a leg kick. Piltz looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Pierce throws a leg kick which misses Piltz's front leg but catches the back leg as Piltz tries to avoid it. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pierce, right into the meat.

That's one minute gone in the round. Piltz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pierce swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Piltz. Piltz throws a right hand that Pierce ducks under and follows up with a left that Pierce also avoids with ease. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Piltz crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Pierce - the referee stops the clock and Piltz gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Pierce. Piltz manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Mark Piltz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pierce tries to work over Piltz's front leg with a kick but Piltz checks it. Pierce lands with a kick to the ribs.
Pierce connects with an inside leg kick. Pierce misses with a body kick. Piltz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Pierce manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Piltz throws a series of punches but Pierce avoids them all with ease. Piltz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pierce.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pierce turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Pierce is looking to land body kicks. Piltz misses with a kick to the body.
Pierce explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Piltz throws a right hand that Pierce ducks under and follows up with a left that Pierce also avoids with ease. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Piltz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Pierce working away. Piltz is trying to get back to half guard. Pierce is looking to take a break and control but Piltz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pierce creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Piltz being controlled for a moment. Pierce wants to control but Piltz is keeping him busy. Piltz is looking to reverse the position. Pierce scores with punches from side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Piltz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pierce off and has taken his back! Will Piltz go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

A big left from Piltz misses. Piltz blocks a head kick by Pierce.
Piltz tries to bum rush Pierce with a series of wild strikes but Pierce uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pierce throws an overhand right that lands on Piltz's shoulder, as Piltz tries to avoid the shot. Piltz throws a half hearted mid kick. Piltz throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Pierce dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Piltz. That did some damage! Pierce misses with the combination.

Pierce is looking to wear down Piltz with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Piltz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pierce. Pierce takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Pierce keeps control of Piltz as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Pierce is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Piltz is defending well. Pierce has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Piltz avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Pierce displaying some good clinch control by pressing Piltz up against the cage. Piltz tries to throw a body punch but Pierce avoids it by throwing Piltz back against the cage. Piltz has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Pierce. Pierce tries to score a body lock takedown but Piltz shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damon Pierce. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pierce is looking to take this one to the mat. Pierce is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Piltz is defending well. Pierce keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Piltz's efforts to push away. Piltz gets underhooks to prevent Pierce's takedown attempt.

Damon Pierce decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. Mark Piltz was interviewed post fight and said 'It's a hard lot of fighters out here in Steel Penn. I'll be back in a ring soon enough.'.
