Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Julio Madrigal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ac Res (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Madrigal kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lil Jon-Throw it Up. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Julio Madrigal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ac Res!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madrigal is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
We've been told by Madrigal's head coaches at Stark Slugger Society - NY that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Res scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Res tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Res has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Res drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Res jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close round but I would say that Julio Madrigal will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Madrigal tries to bum rush Res with a series of wild strikes but Res uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Julio Madrigal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ac Res.

Res tries to score a power double leg takedown but Madrigal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Res somewhat.
Ac Res is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Madrigal misses with an uppercut.
Res uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Madrigal.

Res throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Madrigal was covering up waiting for the punch and Res finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Madrigal lands a strong strike to the head of Res. That's dazed him! Madrigal looking to finish here. Res is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Madrigal lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

During a confident post fight interview, Julio Madrigal thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
