Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franky Fish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Tenorio! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish takes a swing at Tenorio's ribcage but misses. Some wild striking there from Fish.
Tenorio moves away from the strike by Fish. Tenorio fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fish fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tenorio avoids it really well and circles away. Fish tries to move into range but Tenorio moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Tenorio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Tenorio scores with a sloppy right hand. Fish should have avoided that one. Tenorio will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Fish thows a body shot but no joy. Fish on the wrong end of a nice jab. Tenorio connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Tenorio fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fish looks to land a right hand but Tenorio moved out of range. Fish takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Tenorio lands with a thumping leg kick.
Fish takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab by Tenorio. Tenorio throws a series of strikes that have Fish backpedaling.
Tenorio stuffs the takedown. Fish lands a right hook to the body.
Tenorio tries to land a front kick but Fish steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Tenorio scores with a hook to the body. Fish takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Tenorio throws a series of strikes that have Fish backpedaling.
Tenorio throws a left that rocks Fish and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Tenorio dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Fish regain composure!
Fish is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tenorio has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Oh Fish is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Tenorio lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Fish falls backwards - clearly groggy! Tenorio dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Tenorio! Carlos Tenorio seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
