The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Lawrence fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gradnje to the ground. Lawrence is now in Gradnje's guard.
Gradnje is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Gradnje throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lawrence escapes and throws Gradnje's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Lawrence knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gradnje on the ground.

Gradnje tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lawrence wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gradnje is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lawrence pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Gradnje is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gradnje is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lawrence pulls his head out easily.
Lawrence wants to take a breather but Gradnje is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Cary Lawrence will probably get the nod.
