Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cavan Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartwright is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Irish Fighting Song. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cartwright closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Machida quickly recovers to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Cartwright looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Cartwright is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Machida sees it coming and defends easily.
Cartwright works his foot free and advances to mount.
Machida is trying to stand.
Cartwright looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Machida is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Machida has left one of his arms exposed and Cartwright doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Machida screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
