Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Calland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalja Turpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calland's entrance music is Hit It-American Authors. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matthew Calland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kalja Turpa! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turpa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Calland counters by clinching up. Calland breaks from the clinch.
Calland throws a sloppy head kick and Turpa moves out of range easily. Turpa doesn't succeed with the takedown and Calland counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Calland sitting and controlling from the half guard. Turpa should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Calland passes into side control, despite Turpa's attempt to control the position.
Turpa is trying to get back to half guard. Calland scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Turpa to see if he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calland taking a breather here. Turpa looking for a sweep but Calland has passed into full mount! Oh no! Calland stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Calland shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Calland was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Calland is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Turpa is trying to escape and Calland transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Turpa is forced to tap! Nice work there by Calland! Very nice indeed!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Matthew Calland! Matthew Calland looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'I'm glad you could all be here to witness me beating yet another MMA fighter on my way to the top of QFC!'.
