Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Gein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janno Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gibbs's choice of entrance music: Apocalypse Please. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ed Gein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Janno Gibbs!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbs takes one to the chin there.
Gein has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Steel Penn/Heavy Hands Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Gibbs walks into a left hand.
Gein lands a nice shot that snaps Gibbs's head back.
Gein lands with a nice body punch.
Gein lands with a nice combination. Gibbs backs away looking to recover.
Gein connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gibbs. Gibbs circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gein scores with a one two! Gibbs had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Gein lands a nice looking kick to the body. Gibbs takes a step back to recover.
Gein lands a jab to the head.
The crowd cheers as Gein lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gibbs doesn't seem phased though.
Gibbs wants to slow Gein down by chopping away at his legs.
Gein cracks Gibbs with a good jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gibbs goes for a double leg but Gein avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gein continues to drive forward.
Gein is pressed up against the cage. Gibbs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gein down to the mat. Gein avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Gein attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Gein tests Gibbs's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gibbs on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A nice combination there by Gein.
Ed Gein is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gibbs tries for a takedown but Gein sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ed Gein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janno Gibbs.
Gein catches Gibbs with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Gein throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Gein misses with a combination
and Gibbs counters with a low kick, right behind Gein 's knee.

Gein gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gibbs to score an easy takedown into full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Gibbs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gein swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gibbs throws a strike but Gein rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Gein decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gibbs, up you get!
Gibbs closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gein circles away.
Gein is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Gibbs is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gein sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gein tries to bum rush Gibbs with a series of wild strikes but Gibbs uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ed Gein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab by Gein.
Gein listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Gein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gibbs moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gein scores with a three punch combo!


Gibbs is rocked!
Gein drops Gibbs with a straight right hand, right on the button! Gein follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ed Gein!
