Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwyane Johnson! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson leaves Rodriguez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rodriguez defends it nicely. Johnson throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rodriguez. Rodriguez has his takedown stuffed and Johnson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rodriguez looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well. Johnson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rodriguez shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodriguez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Randy Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Johnson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Rodriguez! Rodriguez is trying to buck Johnson off. Rodriguez is breathing heavily. Johnson tries to advance to mount but Rodriguez denies him.

Rodriguez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rodriguez is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it. Johnson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Rodriguez down.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rodriguez is looking for a sweep. Rodriguez can't do much from the bottom here. Johnson wants to control but Rodriguez is keeping him busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson decides to stand back up. Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into Rodriguez's guard. Johnson stands up from Rodriguez's guard - Johnson perhaps looking for a knockout. Rodriguez darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Rodriguez into the cage. Rodriguez fails to pull guard.
Rodriguez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Johnson wants a takedown but no success here.

Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rodriguez is keeping the position for now. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson stands up from guard. Let's bang! Johnson throws a one two combo.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rodriguez's waist but Rodriguez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rodriguez tries to close the distance and clinch but Johnson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rodriguez misses with a takedown and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dwyane Johnson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rodriguez clinches. Rodriguez is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rodriguez down to the mat. Rodriguez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rodriguez shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodriguez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rodriguez works Johnson's body with a nice hook. Rodriguez throws a head kick that Johnson semi-blocks.
Rodriguez shoots in but no luck this time. Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Randy Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Rodriguez with that takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Rodriguez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Johnson has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far. Johnson keeps the fight on the outside. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rodriguez circles away. Rodriguez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rodriguez showed some decent athleticism there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rodriguez tries to stand but can't do so whilst Johnson controls his leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rodriguez is working away from the top position though. Johnson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rodriguez uses his free foot to push down on Johnson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Johnson. Rodriguez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Rodriguez gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rodriguez circles away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rodriguez connects with a body shot that sends Johnson's belly button to the back. Rodriguez paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rodriguez has him pressed against the cage. Rodriguez lands a good knee to the midsection. Johnson won't want to take too many of those. Rodriguez drags the fight down to the ground.
Rodriguez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rodriguez trying to control the position here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rodriguez's guard.

Rodriguez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rodriguez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The fight stays on the outside here - Rodriguez looks like he's thinking about clinching though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
